Published on September 18, 2022 12:03PM EDT. "Rain On Me" was about to earn a whole new meaning at Saturday night's Chromatica Ball show in Miami, but Lady Gaga wasn't going to take the risk. Gaga
"Chromatica Ball" to juz szósta trasa Gagi. Rozpoczęła się 17 lipca w Niemczech. W Europie wystąpi również w Arnhem, Paryżu, Sztokholmie i w Londynie. Wielki finał natomiast odbędzie się 10 września w Los Angeles w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Dzięki relacjom z pierwszych koncertów wiemy, że wokalistka dalej trzyma poziom i zapewnia fanom niesamowite show. Gaga opowiedziała o swojej dolegliwości i sposobach leczenia w filmie o jej życiu "Gaga: Five Foot Two". There was a time I thought I'd never be on stage again. I was so sad I couldn't even dream anything but a painful nightmare. I've overcome my nightmare with love, support, trust, truth, bravery, talent and dedication. I am so grateful. I'll see you in BABYLON. #ChromaticaBall— Lady Gaga (@ladygaga) July 15, 2022 Wielbiciele Mavericka mogą odetchnąć z ulgą. Pilot wraca na ekrany kin po 36 latach. Wielki hit z 1986 roku - "Top Gun" - doczekał się kontynuacji. Wielu z nas pamięta nieśmiertelną już piosenkę "Take My Breath Away" w wykonaniu... Słynny aktor i muzyk Johnny Depp wkrótce zawita w Europie! Jego zespół właśnie ogłosił przyszłoroczną trasę koncertową. W jakich krajach wystąpią?

For the first time since 2018, Lady Gaga is ready to hit the road on tour. As the doors opened at Merkur Spiel-Arena in Düsseldorf, Germany for the first night of her 2022 tour, the Chromatica Ball, Lady Gaga posted a video from backstage on her Instagram candidly discussing her feelings and nervousness of returning to the stage and the meaning behind the show.“I want to allow you all to interpret this show in the way that you want to, but I will say that it really documents the many different stages and sides of grief and the manic energy of grief that I feel that I’ve experienced in my life,” she said. “I really want to thank you for sticking it out with me and loving me through all the different iterations of my artistry as well as me as a person.”She continued, adding, “I feel more clear today than I have in a long time and more pain free than I have in ages. And being free of pain on stage is a real healing experience because I’m able to dance and sing and enjoy the audience, enjoy the show, and really tell a story.”“I don’t know that I’ve been as speechless as I am today, knowing what we’re about to do,” she said. “But if you know people ask me all the time what ‘Chromatica’ was about and in ‘Babylon,’ I say battle fair life and when I made ‘Chromatica’ I was really battling from my life.”She acknowledged that that would be a “tough spot” for anybody, but wanted her fans to know that the Chromatica Ball was “created in the spirit of that battle to win yourself back.” “There’s no greater prize than you,” she said. “There’s no thing more important than your own heart and your own ability to heal, and we don’t heal on our own, I don’t think, but I think it’s possible to at some point have your own back. And having your own back takes a lot of strength and time.”Lady Gaga also revealed some details surrounding The Chromatica Ball, which was originally planned for 2020 but was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, explaining, “The stage was inspired by brutalist architecture, materials, textures, crudity, transparency — a real savage and hard look at yourself, what you’ve been though.”“I want to tell a story but with abstractions and art, so this show celebrates things that I have always loved,” she added. “Art and fashion and dance and music and technology, poetry, and the way all of those things work together.”To conclude the touching video, Lady Gaga wished all of her fans at the show a fun time, adding, “I hope you love this thing that we made you you….I’ll see you on the dance floor.”The Grammy winning singer’s honest video comes just two days after she expressed her fears of returning to the stage in a tweet on Friday, July 15.“There was a time I thought I’d never be on stage again,” she wrote. “I was so sad I couldn’t even dream anything but a painful nightmare. I’ve overcome my nightmare with love, support, trust, truth, bravery, talent and dedication. I am so grateful. I’ll see you in BABYLON.”Over the years, Lady Gaga has been candid about living with PTSD and struggles with fibromyalgia chronic pain, including how it affects her life and career. In the past, the singer had to cancel the European leg of her Joanne World Tour in 2017 as well as the final 10 dates of the tour in early 2018, citing her pain and chronic pain was also a focal point during her Netflix documentary “Five Foot Two.”At a press conference at the Toronto International Film Festival, Lady Gaga said “It’s hard, but it’s liberating, too” when it came to discussing her health.“There is an element and a very strong piece of me that believes that pain is a microphone,” she said. “My pain really does me no good unless I transform it into something that is. So I hope that people watching it that do struggle with chronic pain know they’re not alone.”Francesca Gariano is a New York City-based freelance journalist reporting on culture, entertainment, beauty, lifestyle and wellness. It feels like a lifetime ago when Lady Gaga, in the darkest days of the pandemic, released “Chromatica” in May 2020. It was essentially, a way to free yourself from the lockdown of the walls
The first glimpse we got of Lady Gaga at Stockholm’s Friends Arena was a throwback. On the big screen, before she emerged onstage proper, Gaga was shown in shadow, more four-legged creature than human, wearing bulbous heels and a tall, imposing crown. This was the Gaga of years gone by – of the era-defining single “Bad Romance” and her wildly successful 2009 release The Fame Monster. Recently, however, we have had so many iterations of Lady Gaga – jazz singer Gaga, Haus Labs makeup guru Gaga, A Star Is Born ingenue Gaga, rock star Gaga, and most recently spoke-in-an-Italian-accent-for-about-a-year-for-House of Gucci Gaga – that it is sometimes easy to forget who she is, or at least who she was when she emerged in the cultural Gaga, born Stefani Germanotta, an Italian girl from New York City (as she is so fond of saying), began her career as a musical theatre-trained singer-songwriter who named herself after a Queen single. After developing a following with hair bows (were we ever so young?) and just-left-of-centre tracks like “Just Dance” and “Poker Face”, Gaga – and her output – grew stranger and more daring, as her grip on mainstream pop became unavoidable. She was Mother Monster, a cult leader bleeding from the eyes at the VMAs and arriving at the Grammys in an is this image of Gaga – the provocateur, always willing to surprise or subvert – that is most associated with her as a live performer. But from the time she released her country-adjacent album Joanne in 2016, she seemed to go AWOL for a while, leaving in her place a bona fide superstar who found herself nominated for Oscars and making records with legends like Tony Bennett, with no need for the shock tactics or, indeed, the agenda-setting pop music of yore. But 2020 proved the perfect time for a return to pop – this time inflected by the hefty pump of house music – just to show that, having mastered the big screen, she really could still do it all. Her fifth album, Chromatica, was what fans had been longing for for years: it featured a concept (Chromatica, she said, was a new world of her invention), bangers aplenty, rarely a downtempo moment, and a frightfully camp Elton John cameo, lest we forgot what a big deal she is these days. If Chromatica was a glimpse at the ways in which Lady Gaga could still innovate within pop, then the much delayed (due to Covid) and much anticipated Chromatica Ball – which made its second ever stop in Sweden – would also be a new interpretation of the Gaga stage persona of her pop tours Gaga performs on stage during The Chromatica Ball Summer Stadium Tour at Friends Arena in Stockholm (Photo: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Live Nation)She has always been a ferocious rock star whose onstage idiosyncrasies make her one of the best performers in the world to watch live, and that remained true: when we finally glimpsed Gaga for real, she of course performed “Bad Romance” from inside a leather sarcophagus-type garment, and even when she took to her piano to give beautiful, stripped-back renditions of A Star Is Born tracks “Shallow” and “Always Remember Us This Way,” as well as “Edge of Glory” and “1000 Doves,” she did so dressed as a very glamorous bug, decorative headpiece and all. Despite the mask, however, as usual, there are few vocalists who do better when it’s just their voice and the keys; many would simply not be good enough to let rip the way Gaga has always been able to, and tonight, these tracks accounted for her best vocals, swelling to fill the arena, her voice rich and familiar. But it wasn’t all about Gaga’s trademark intimate moments, wherein she turns rooms of thousands into 50-seater dive bars (as she played the opening bars of “Born this Way”, she cooed down the mic: “Just a reminder, this is a ball, and everyone’s welcome here”): the Chromatica Ball was an entire multimedia production, featuring film, live instruments, pyrotechnics and show followed a loose narrative, with the setlist split into Acts, which seemed to take us from Gaga’s inception on the planet of Chromatica to her emergence as a freedom fighter willing to battle for her values of self-expression and love. The format worked well enough, though the crowd’s attention did seem to wane a little during Gaga performs on stage during The Chromatica Ball Summer Stadium Tour at Friends Arena in Stockholm (Photo: Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for Live Nation)While some Acts could have been shorter to keep momentum up, particularly strong was the third, ending in “Free Woman”, which saw Gaga effectively moving through the crowd, away from the front stage and onto a smaller one in the middle of the arena, atop which stood her piano. Across the night, the show felt like as much of a celebration of all of the places that Gaga the Popstar has been, as much as it was a showcase for her newest album, and some of the most exciting moments came as we saw Chromatica brought into Gaga’s established oeuvre. During album standout “Babylon,” Gaga performed thrilling new choreography informed by the Fosse-influenced style she has adopted throughout her career, while “Sour Candy” was married with the longtime hit “Telephone” in an earlier Act. The costuming constantly referenced previous eras, and particularly cool was the section whereby Gaga was dressed in authoritarian leather and vinyl, recalling her “Alejandro” music video from back in 2009. Indeed, there was no element of the production that felt accidental, because for Gaga herself, it was clear that being back on tour is deeply meaningful: she suffers from fibromyalgia and has had to cancel live dates in Europe due to illness in the past, (making her return over the last week, beginning in Dusseldorf on 17th July, even more special). The Chromatica Ball, therefore, seems to have been conceived of as a new way for her to perform live (from 2018 to May this year she performed just over 50 dates in a Vegas residency; on this tour there are fewer dates than ever, and it features filmed sections throughout which provide extended breaks between sections). During “1000 Doves”, a new addition to the already much-shared Chromatica Ball setlist tonight, she emotionally told the audience, “For everybody that believed in me that I could be healthy again, thank you.”More from MusicSeeing her back was wonderful, particularly because it seems that of all her personae, Gaga feels most purposeful of all onstage, burning up like a star in the sky in front of a live audience. Perhaps this is the truest, most real Gaga of them her first encore (the second saw her in a metallic claw, performing her Top Gun: Maverick soundtrack single “Hold My Hand”, naturally), she played “Stupid Love”, dancing the choreography with the abandon that has always characterised her live show. While she is able to accomplish so much and occupy so many spaces, from acting to jazz singing, that song reveals something of her own desires: “All I ever wanted was love,” she sang tonight, wrapping her arms around herself. It is onstage, touring a new show, that Lady Gaga is able to finally receive that love. Audiences preparing to see her in the UK next week should get ready for quite a Chromatica Ball continues to 17 September and is at The London Stadium on 29 and 30 July
The album also yielded Lady Gaga 5 Grammy elections, consisting of for album of the year and song of the year ("Poker Face"); she caught 2 Grammysbest dance recording ("Poker Face") and best electronic/dance album (The Popularity)and her opening duet with Sir Elton John was amongst the most talked-about elements of the 2010 Grammys telecast
It isn’t a lie when someone walks over to you and tells you that Gaga is amazing live, honestly it was such a good show! She provided us little monsters with a mix of older hits from previous albums (The Fame, The Fame Monster, Born This Way & Artpop) such as Applause, Alejandro, Bloody Mary (that was a real crowd pleaser!) and of course you can’t forget about Just Dance, Paparazzi, Poker Face and Bad Romance! As well as having a great variety on her setlist, she also ensured that the choreography was level with the setlist, giving us the most energetic and fun dance routines in which made us all want to dance too! her dance crew are just so talented, let’s just appreciate that for a few minutes! And to round this review up, her stage layout was made with little monsters in mind, Gaga made sure that she could get around the whole arena to be near all her fans, which shows just how loving she is towards us! (If you don’t know what the stage layout is like, here’s a short description: “The full layout consisted of a very dynamic and kinetic main stage, three flying bridge platforms which double as projection displays, two satellite stages and an LED integrated b-stage.” - TAIT (the builders of the stage/s) Although we expect big from Gaga, I don’t think anyone expected this BIG! She really blew us away, and all the time and effort that has gone into this your has truely been worth it, with the majority of her concerts selling out! (Cannot give specifics as her Tour has not finished yet). Read more Report as inappropriate

Harnessing the flamboyancy of Madonna, David Bowie and Freddie Mercury, Lady Gaga has become a true pop diva of the post-millennial age, gaining countless hits and pushing the boundaries of fashion through her unique aesthetic. Gaga herself initially found a love of performance through drama, pursuing musical theater in high school and at New York University's Tisch School of Arts. Gaga signed with Def Jam in 2006, although this was short lived. But after gaining positive attention with her act, Lady Gaga & The Starlight Revue, alongside burlesque star Lady Starlight, Gaga garnered the interest of Interscope and their subsidiary Kon Live label. In 2008, "The Fame" arrived, storming to global success. Featuring the hit singles, "Just Dance," "LoveGame" and "Poker Face," Gaga initially found greater success in Europe, dominating club playlists. Gaga soon stormed to the top of the US charts and abroad, achieving several number one singles. WIth "Poker Face," she was awarded her first Grammy Award for 'Best Dance Recording.' "ad Romance," "Alejandro" and "Telephone," a duet with Beyonce, continued to send Gaga at the top of the charts. In 2011, Gaga returned with new music, releasing her second album, "Born This Way," featuring the top ten singles, "Born This Way," "Judas" and "The Edge of Glory." Gaga promoted the album through extensive tours internationally, as well as appearing on an endless list of Television programs. Her third album, "Artpop" appeared in 2013, becoming a number one hit in several countries, maintaining the prowess of Gaga in the world of pop. Gaga's next move was an interesting change of direction with her collaborative album alongside the legendary vocalist, Tony Bennett, releasing an album of jazz standards titled "Cheek to Cheek" in 2014. Read more Live reviews Lady Gaga If Lady Gaga and her fans were a couple, they would be that couple: that loved-up pair of paramours in your life always making uncomfortable public displays of affection and loudly declaring their love – and, on occasion, screaming out from the upper reaches of an arena that "oh my God, I love your bum!". That couple who dress the same – sometimes in meat, mostly in sequins – and can't tear their googly eyes off each other, and who you just want to tell to "get a room!" When they do just that, as they did in Allphones Arena this Saturday night for the Sydney leg of Gaga's ArtRave tour, it's a big messy mutual lovefest. Gaga (Stefani Germanotta) doesn't just dedicate a song to her 'little monsters', or tell them they are "one of the most authentic fanbases of the new millennium", she pauses mid-song during Dope – "I need you more than dope" – to repeat lines that underline just how important they are to their queen. She schools them in her love. The ArtRave set was suitably elaborate. And the costumes were as fabulous as you would hope for: Gaga changed on stage at one point into a multi-coloured fluoro Harajuku number; sang Paparazzi (gorgeously) as she was strangled by what appeared to be the spawn of a Dalmatian and a giant squid; and opened the night in a golden leotard with a blue orb protruding from her chest and golden wings spreading out from her back. The tiny woman inside the outfits was a revelation: that huge voice soaring above the mess of noise in big numbers like Bad Romance and Alejandro. She was especially strong when settled at her white piano – on Dope, tears dropped from her face as she gave her arena full of fans pretty much everything, and a pared-back Born This Way gave the song the heft that its pro-LGBTQI message deserves. Were moments like Do What U Want, when Gaga sat like a queen and the bum-complimenter behind us screamed out "You are such a b---h!" and we knew it was the nicest thing you could say at such a moment. And then there was the moment of the night, when Gaga sorted through the toys and tat thrown at her feet and plucked out a letter. It was from a kid that she had encouraged to come out of the closet, despite his concern about how his parents might react. "Through your music you've helped and set free many people," he wrote, now happily out, embraced by his parents, and thankful for Gaga's help. The arena cameras honed in on him, and so did Gaga, telling her people to make sure he was backstage later. Then she firmly repeated the order – make sure he's there. Great bum, great heart, very good show. Read more Report as inappropriate You're not supposed to do this kind of show at Wrigley Field. Gaga did. Moving platforms, hydralic staging, dancers, fire throwers, explosives. Gagag delivered a set that began at 8:30pm until just before the alloted 11pm must-end, and filled it to the brim. Lady Gaga held court over an audience that might not have gone to Wrigley before. We've been there for Tom Petty, the Dead, Elton John, Billy Joel, Paul MacCartney, James Taylor and Jackson Browne; Gaga just became THE biggest deal there. Gaga is iconic...and lets you damn well know it. She donned a Cubs jersey, acknowledge her role as the firsr female act to headline Wrigley and with a slew of costume changes, blew the joint apart. Rarely does any act own the whole audience; she has that live "IT" power; all the hits, some of "Joanne" and enough banter and personalizing of every number to make it worthy of recording like the Grateful Dead: it's honed to that stage, that show, that moment. It's the living difference between recorded and live art. Some costuming got twisted up and she kept singing, dancers unfeeling her, and when her contact mike was clearly dead, she kept playing her guitar intro as a dancer moved in with a mike without missing a beat: THAT, kids, is the sign of a pro. Stellar. Superb. A little schmaltzy with some very theatrical presentation, but if schmaltz is this good, love it to death. WE don't have a Judy Garland anymore; we don't have a young Streisand who could deliver the sounds, range and furious precision of a Gaga; just GO. Opening act of her DJ was one hour of loud, often too-profane "meh." One person near us said, "there's othing more boring than watching a DJ." True, dat. Read more Report as inappropriate This is the second time I have been to see Lady Gaga she is such an inspirational Artist, I went to see her perform live in Birmingham at the NIA this year,(2014) Not only is her performance top quality but her showmanship is for me the best in the business. Lady Gaga put in a lot of effort into every aspect of her live performances, she designed the set and stage layout to maximise the ordinance participation. It was a even balance of her vast catalogue of work from Just dance right through to Artpop. The minute the curtain fell I felt a tingling sensation down my spine, This was something I had been looking forward to for some time for buying the ticket on line to the show its self. You maybe sitting there woundeering why I called her an inspirational artist? This is for two reasons the first is the artist bit Lady Gaga describes her self as an artist the inspirational bit is the fact that she has not only produced one of the most inspiring songs of all time Born this way but on the night of the show a young fan threw a note on stage, now Gaga could have simply given that note to someone and read it after the show, but she didn't, after reading part of the note to her self she realised how important she had been to helping the fan get through a difficult time for them and so not only did she read the note out loud but had the fan come on stage to help her sing one of her songs, yes, you guessed it Born this way and if one person can change, inspire and improve the life of others through her music then that someone is lady Gaga and that is why I get such a thrill seeing her live. Read more Report as inappropriate It isn’t a lie when someone walks over to you and tells you that Gaga is amazing live, honestly it was such a good show! Read more Report as inappropriate I attended Lady Gaga's concert in Birmingham on the 15th of October, I was a holder of a VIP Artpop Zone meet and greet ticket. The experience during the concert was amazing, she sang in front of us most of the time, unfortunately backstage I was expecting a little bit more, yes she was with us more than an hour talking, but we were a large group of 20 people and there were 2 particular people at ours who acted as if no one else had paid for it. They should have just gone around the room and asked everyone individually for a question. On several times I tried to draw the conversation back to our side of the room, as they seemed to have created the whole meet centred around a particular area. Gaga is too polite, but I could tell she wanted someone else to speak because she kept looking at other people and saying 'has anyone else got any questions?. All in all, my experience was great but I was expecting more backstage, I had a VERY RUSHED picture taken and then BYE. Perhaps is not Gaga's fault but it is annoying that her team had rushed things. I love this woman with every fiber of my being, and I paid four months' rent for this. I have mixed feelings. Not having a minute to talk to Gaga in private for the amount of money we paid put me a little down as well. When the photo was sent to my e-mail I felt a little bit better though. I did it because it was my dream to meet her, but I've learned my lesson and will not spend the amount of money I did again. It's is for sure one of the my best experiences ever! Read more Report as inappropriate I had one of the most amazing experiences going to a Lady Gaga show a while back. It was a bit like going to a Broadway show, a Circus, a dance club and a crazy Rave! The combination of all of these different occasions was something I had never felt at a concert before. Seeing 'Mother Monster' live was more of an experience than just a musical concert. I believe the Little Monsters (that's what she calls her fans) are such a unique crowd, with people from all walks of life, all ages, and all lifestyles. It was a people-watching extravaganza!! And then the show itself, my goodness, so many things happening, so many stage props, so many dancers, and oh how amazing the dancing was. Mesmerizing and picturesque. And then on top of all that throw in the insane costumes and the stage props, along with a light show that complimented every aspect. Truly a piece of art in a way. As I say, it just seems so much more than just a concert experience, it feels like a combination of so many things. The only time I have felt close to this, was way back at a Madonna concert when she was really in her prime and she was putting on performances of this level. It felt so good to see a performer attempting to entertain again, and entertain in a fantastic way. People may say what they want about Lady Gaga, and she does a lot of things to attract those thoughts, but putting all that aside, she is one hell of a performer and a show that I will gladly attend over and over! Read more Report as inappropriate By Anonymous I am speechless. As a die hard Gaga fan, I was completely excited for the concert- especially when I was queing. I qued for around 10 hours and it was honestly worth it. The music was expectedly all live- Gaga performed a lot of ARTPOP songs such as Venus,Swine, and Mary Jane Holland as well as her well known hits. Her vocals were flawless- she even expressed her love by adding a Whitney Houston "I will always love you" ending to one of her songs. That alone was amazing. The show itself was insane- there was constant confetti and strobe lights pulsating the arena; let us not forget the amazing dancers fleeting the stage too. Gaga also took moments between songs to preach about equality, her feelings and general speeches of empowerment. A noticable element of the show was when she picked up and read a young boy's letter of his struggled- she then got him and his boyfriend on stage to dedicate born this way to them. They sat either side of her on the piano, it was heartwarming. Personally, I think if people ignorant to Gaga's importance and talent were to attend artRAVE they woulf instantly be turned- it was that great. It was unforgettable and probably will never be topped. Read more Report as inappropriate Well, to start, unless you just want to visit and hang out with other fans, I suggest you don't arrive early. You probably won't even make it through the line by 7:30 at the scheduled start time of show. But don't worry, the show won't start until 9:15pm (an hour and 45 minutes late) and there is no opening act. If you read the latest reports, this is what Gaga has been doing at her shows (it's all planned). Just when we were getting fed up waiting, Lady Gaga hit the stage. Her concert was amazing. It was colorful and exciting with the use of many high tech effects. The women has got talent! She brings with her a dozen energetic backup dancers. Her voice, her voice ......unbelievable! If you happen to have to have a seat rather far from the stage, no worry. She makes every seat in the house a good one as she drops small bridges from pods high in near the ceiling and connects the stage to designated raised circles on the floor all the way back to a smaller stage at the opposite end of the venue. She and her dancers move about with each song and manage to personally engage each fan in their seats with an up close entertainment opportunity. Worth the wait! Read more Report as inappropriate Awesome show from start to finish. We saw her Enigma show in Las Vegas. Great set design and graphics. She performed her ass off as well as her backups. The Park Theater had great seat layout and perfect sound. My ears were not ringing afterwards. A little more then midway in show Lady Gaga slows it down a bit to do “Million Reasons” and opened up a letter thrown on stage to read. It was from a younger woman from Chile who has been a strong fan from the start and feels her life saved by listening to and admiring Lady Gaga. She worked extra for over a year to afford getting to Vegas to see her and waited to get in front row. She was invited on stage to sit with Lady Gaga while performing the song and was told she’d be reimbursed for her costs getting there. Totally awesome and tested up many in the crowd. Lady Gaga also tested up crowd again at the end and about how much she survives off her fans and the love all around and then sang her newer song “Shallow”. If you can go, I highly recommend!! She stated her residency is extended to 2 years so far! Read more Report as inappropriate from the time the huge clock started the 10 min countdown that would end with the playing of 'diamond heart' through to the 'million reasons' finale which saw Lady Gaga disappear into the floor leaving only her hat on the piano seat well over 2 hrs later the crowd was in in an uproar . I've witnessed literally hundreds of artists overthe years and this show is inside my top 10 all time . The vocals , the stage(s) the light show everything was top notch . She started strong with diamond heart, A-yo and poker face which really got the crowd up on their feet waving their hands in the air and the most touching moment would have to be when she explained exactly who joanne was and their unique connection and then she finished by whipping the crowd into a frenzy with bad romance, the cure and million reasons . I had made a10 hr drive to see her only to find out the show was cancelled earlier this yr, I decided to make the trrip again for the re-scheduled show and I'm so glad I did ! Lady Gaga - A True Legend. I have seen Gaga in concert several times. She puts on an incredible show! The megastar is back on tour for the first time since the pandemic, starting with a concert in Düsseldorf. Her image reinventions and music are what make her a true pop icon. She will perform in 14 cities around the world for the first time since January 2018. Lady Gaga will give her first concert on July 17 as an open-air concert in Düsseldorf, after which she will appear in Stockholm, Paris, London, Toronto, Washington, New York, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles, among others. It will be the live premiere of the songs from her latest album, "Chromatica." Lady Gaga originally wanted to go on tour for the release of the album in 2020. Due to the pandemic, however, the concerts had to be postponed twice. German fans of the pop icon should be particularly pleased that the first concert is in Düsseldorf — during her last world tour in 2018, Lady Gaga had to cancel many European concerts due to illness, including all of her stops in Germany. Top star despite health issues Lady Gaga suffers from fibromyalgia, an increased sensitivity to pain, colloquially known as soft tissue rheumatism. She spoke with US talk show host Oprah Winfrey in 2020 about how the disease causes chronic pain throughout her body and leads to exhaustion: "Even sitting here with you today, I am in head-to-toe pain," said Gaga. Regardless of her illness, Lady Gaga is one of the most successful artists in the world. She has won 12 Grammy Awards and has also received an Oscar and two Golden Globes for her acting and music. Promoting 'House of Gucci' in style at the London premiere in November 2021 The concert promoter Live Nation Entertainment states that she has sold over 36 million albums worldwide. Around 190 million fans follow her on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter — that's more than twice Germany's entire population. Lady Gaga: a total work of art Gaga, whose real name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, released her first album in 2008, "The Fame," which marked her international breakthrough, selling 15 million copies. It included the hit songs "Poker Face" and "Just Dance," which became two of the world's best-selling singles of all time. "Chromatica" is her sixth studio album, and features collaborations with musical greats such as Ariana Grande and Elton John. Surprising pop duos Lady Gaga and Tony Bennett An eccentric pop star and an aging crooner — why not! In 2014, they sang together on an album of jazz standards, including the song "Cheek to Cheek." Listeners who thought that Lady Gaga's talent was restricted to producing electropop hits à la "Poker Face" discovered that she was a versatile singer. Surprising pop duos Jay-Z and Beyoncé Without any previous announcement or marketing, and exclusively for streaming, the power couple released a surprise collaborative album, Everything is Love. While the ups and downs of Jay-Z's and Beyoncé's marriage were publicly revealed through previous solo albums, the fact that the Carters ended up doing a joint work is perhaps not as surprising as these other legendary duos... Surprising pop duos Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé An opera diva alongside one of the most dazzling personalities in rock and pop history. Freddie Mercury's characteristic vocals met classical soprano. The song "Barcelona" was recorded in 1987. Mercury was fascinated by the Caballé at that time and the two became close friends. They performed the song twice on stage. Surprising pop duos Kylie Minogue and Nick Cave The pope of gothic rock and a singing disco ball: How is that supposed to work together? If the duet "Where the Wild Roses Grow" is any indication, amazingly well. Morbid, beautiful, lyrical, the song tells the story of a man who murders his lover. Kylie makes an appearance in the video as one of the most exquisite water corpses in pop music history. Surprising pop duos Christina Aguilera and The Stones A powerful voice meets a rock'n'roll legend: In 2008, director Martin Scorsese brought Aguilera and the Stones together for the concert film Shine a Light. The song "Live With Me" is an explosive duet in which Mick Jagger and the pop diva give it all they've got. Stones guitarist Keith Richards claimed that he didn't recognize the lady on stage but after that hit, that should have been rectified. Surprising pop duos Udo Lindenberg and Clueso Alt-rocker Udo Lindenberg took to the stage for his live album, titled MTV Unplugged - Live from the Hotel Atlantic, and brought this pop prodigy along with him. The already-successful songwriter Clueso joined Lindenberg for a joint interpretation of Lindenberg's song " It is one of the most beautiful recordings on the album. Surprising pop duos Nancy Sinatra and Lee Hazlewood In "Sweet Summer Wine," a mysterious beauty, performed by Nancy, beguiles the rich stranger with a bowl of strawberries, cherries and alcohol. Lee Hazlewood had initially intended the song as a B-side. But after it went off the charts, they produced an entire album in collaboration, titled Nancy & Lee. Surprising pop duos Frank and Nancy Sinatra "Something Stupid" is a love song that gets under your skin. It sounds weird, as it's sung by father and daughter, but the duet became one of the most famous of all time. Maybe it was so good because the two of them did not take the song seriously, but kept making faxes during the recordings, a move that made the sound engineers pale. Surprising pop duos Elton John and Kiki Dee A one-hit wonder collaboration that was worthwhile for both of them: "Don't Go Breaking My Heart," released in 1970, is a light, cheesy love duet that offered the perfect soundtrack to everyone who'd fallen in love. Surprising pop duos Jane Birkin and Serge Gainsbourg In 1969 the duet "Je t'aime... moi non plus," sung by French enfant terrible Serge Gainsbourg and British actor Jane Birkin, triggered strong emotions. Even without understanding French, the suggestive and breathy style of singing led it to being banned from radio in many countries. Yet millions of copies of the "forbidden fruit" single were sold. Surprising pop duos Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole This father-daughter duet might seem creepy to some: Natalie re-recorded her father's song "Unforgettable" in 1991, nearly 26 years after his death, singing on his original recordings. Natalie's duet with her "resurrected" late father was a smash hit: It sold 14 million copies and won seven Grammys. Surprising pop duos Karel Gott and Bushido How could this miraculous meeting ever have taken place? Well, in 2000 Karel Gott had released a German cover version of the 80s hit "Forever Young." The German gangster rapper was a fan of the pop hit and wanted to re-record it, this time as a duet with the Czech pop star. Rap meets Schlager. And "Forever Young" cracked the top five of the charts in 2002. Surprising pop duos Helga Feddersen and Didi Hallervorden THE German dumbbell couple of the 70s; the two covered the hit from the musical Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, "You're The One That I Want." The German version had nothing to do with disco, glamour and dance, though: Hallervorden and Feddersen squatted in the bathtub, played with rubber duckies and sang: "The bath is full, Hu Hu Hu." But even beyond her music, Lady Gaga is a total work of art, particularly with her shrill costumes. At US President Joe Biden's inauguration, she sang in a bulletproof dress. She sometimes dresses as Jo Calderone, her fictional male alter-ego she created in 2010. The meat dress she wore at the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards remains legendary. Early on in her career she was compared to Madonna, the "Queen of Pop." Lady Gaga has also demonstrated her acting skills, whether in the lead role alongside Bradley Cooper in the remake of the classic film "A Star is Born" (2018) or as Patrizia Reggiani, the ex-wife of Maurizio Gucci, in Ridley Scott's "House of Gucci" (2022). "A Star is Born" brought her an Oscar nomination for best actress and she won the Academy Award for the song "Shallow." Winning her Oscar in 2019 for the hit song, 'Shallow' The commercial and critical success of the 36-year-old world star on stage and on the silver screen is reflected in the ticket prices for her concerts: The cheapest tickets in Düsseldorf cost €176 ($177), while the most expensive ones sell for €2,239. A few places are still available. Lady Gaga opens her world tour "The Chromatica Ball" on July 17, 2022 in Düsseldorf. This article was originally written in German.
